You Make Me Better

I have been a little more attentive as of late to the powers of energy that flow in this amazing universe. The one factor that continues to take up the big billboard in my mind is the power of someone else’s existence in my own life. It always seems as if I’m charged up with a few more creative particles after sitting next to this person for a few minutes or even bumping into them while I am out and about.

Upon my first meeting this person I got an “electro-shock” to my own cycle of energy particles – it was intense – the most intense energy I have ever received from another human being to date. The energy has fueled my writing, encouraged my desire to get to where I want to go and even got me to open up my art trunk and pull out the paint brushes, acrylics and canvas. That is a whole lot of power one single, simple, human being can convey.

It will be almost a full year since I have known this person and our times together are very few and far in between. I can even venture to say we have no clue about each other’s lives but we know each other so well. I know we keep tabs on each other thanks to the power of internet and human psyche. Its all in the eyes, you can look into this person’s eyes and know that those eyes are staring right back at you with the same intensity. Those eyes linger in your memory. The energy makes you want to be a better person than you were yesterday.

Just Two People, That’s It.

You feel thoughts and intentions like a radio frequency from each other. Beyond the physical human attraction there is a deeper magnet that draws you to another individual. It has nothing to do with conventional societal norms, or constricted titles, or even definition of roles in each others lives, as far as I’m concerned we are two working stiffs in Miami that met in a random lounge on a late summer night. With the few intentional meetings for conversation or a few sporadic chance encounters, it is quite possible I may never see this person again, but I feel our knowing each other was suppose to happen in order to make each other better. The sharing of our knowledge and wisdom was automatic – we want nothing from each other, yet we get so much out of each other.

We are surrounded by the most socially awkward circumstances and kind of fish for thoughts in our heads so we can carry a working conversation, yet it seems as if we communicate in silence. We have had our conversations before – either in this lifetime or the next. The Universe is logical in how it carries itself (and you) – after all, we are wave particles of energy and GOD will not put something or someone in your path if it does not make sense. In gratitude I write this as a tribute to the things and people I cannot control and the gift spirituality has allowed me to uncover. The only thing I know is that this person makes me better without imposing force, will or even care – it just happens to be that way because they exist.

The Most Important Things…

I couldn’t have put it better myself.

The Wanderer

“I went out walking through the streets paved with gold, lifted some stones, saw the skin and bones, of a city without a soul.” ~Johnny Cash w/ U2

For years now I have heard the all too familiar song of  “Miami is.”   Whether you are a brand new transplant or  an original local; the streets and people of Miami can leave an impression on any of us at any given time.  So many nights under the Miami moon has set the the perfect stage for a wanderer to observe and assess the skin and bones of a city who’s soul is hiding somewhere on South Beach.

Delving into a deeper understanding of the sunny Vitamin D soaked society you begin to uncover that the entire city, as a whole, has a distinct personality  of southern warmth and worldly cynicism.  We, as Miami, are layers of personality and culture with a twist of historical drama.  My own experiences growing up in Miami were extremely out of the norm from any other kid growing up in America, yet I went through all of the same growing pains that everyone in the world went through.

To this day, Miami has been a place of selective inclusion.  Clusters of the same kind of people hang out in their own burrows – which makes it interesting to observe the human behaviors that ensue.  There are the party people, the sports bar crowds – people south of eighth street – the beach people, those that hang in Miami Lakes and everywhere else.

The wanderer in me has seen the skin and bones of this place and has felt it in the soul – yet it still feels like a wander anywhere I go until I find myself at home.  I do know that part of Miami that is spoken about after the line ‘Miami is,’ but I also know the Miami that is real and has raised me to be the person I am now.  In gratitude I honor Miami as the place that makes me  a lover of life and the classroom where I learned defense.  If I am okay in Miami I will be fine anywhere else.

Look at Miami through eyes of a wanderer, you’ll notice the ‘atomic sky’ and the ‘churches where people sit’ – the only question is will you want a ‘kingdom with out God in it?’

Respect and Admiration

Its the perfect formula and standard as to which you uphold your charted path for personal growth.

Beginning with respect and admiration for yourself. Once that happens, then you may live happily ever after.  After all, why would you want to align yourself with energies that don’t treasure your role in life and your presence in theirs. You have to begin within yourself, at the core. A simple concept of nature to understand, and the basic principle in the practice of Buddhism.

The more you mature in life, the more you understand and accept the concept of human interaction and its purpose for continued growth – whether personally or biologically.  At the very basis of any human relationship there is a basic understanding of respect.  Only when respect has been established can you earn the admiration of said human.

When a bag full of air begins to blow or a bucket of water begins to fill, eventually you’ll reach the brim.  Once you get to that very edge things boil over and fizzle out.  Only when you truly have earned the respect and admiration of the other is when you can begin to understand each other – and yourself.

So as an affirmation to yourself, never tell you or others you are a loser for not doing things, when in fact you are amazing for doing so many incredible things.  Take a deep breath and understand that life pans out as it should and you make a couple of decisions on a couple of different days in your life that take you on that course (whatever it may be).  Make love in action not just words – true respect and admiration is felt to the bone.  Passion is never lost when you admire the person you are loving.

Lessons are the most valuable part of any social interaction between humans; how else are we supposed to develop to full potential if we don’t study the events that have occurred in order to prepare for the ones that haven’t.
